Ruth Mageria

Ruth Mageria has been the Executive Director of CROS Ministries since February, 2014. She was previously on the organization’s staff for 12 years, first as the camp coordinator, then food pantry coordinator and finally as the director of volunteers and congregational development. During her tenure, she served on Palm Beach County’s Disaster Preparedness and Food Security Committee, Director of Volunteer Services of Palm Beach County, Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County, People Engaged in Active Community Efforts (PEACE), the Faith Community Network Initiative with the Department of Juvenile Justice, and was part of the Interfaith Clergy Committee of the Palm Beaches. Ruth is the current treasurer of the Human Services Coalition of Palm Beach County. Ruth also serves on the local board of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program. Originally from Kenya, Ruth recently spent three years in her home country where she worked as a consultant and helped mobilize resources for churches and nonprofit agencies, connecting them to corporation’s social responsibility initiatives. She also facilitated workshops through the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals. Ruth holds a B.A. in Education and Biblical Studies from Daystar University, Nairobi, Kenya and M. Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Towson University, Baltimore. She is also an alumnus of Leadership Palm Beach County, Class of 2015. Ruth is the proud mother of 13- year-old James, and lives in West Palm Beach.
