Diana  L. Stanley joined The Lord’s Place as executive director in April 2007. Prior to this, she spent 20+ years in Upstate New York working in a variety of non-profits all dedicated to serving the poor and homeless.

Under her visionary leadership, The Lord’s Place has seen enormous growth.  She helped create new programs, financially stabilized and diversified the agency’s resources, developed expert leadership inside and outside of The Lord’s Place, and expanded its community-wide impact – all to serve the estimated 3,200 men, women and children who are homeless on any given night in Palm Beach County.  Her leadership created a culture of compassion, innovation and vision for the agency.

Now, in her current role as chief executive officer, Ms. Stanley is an active community leader:  she is past president of the Executive Directors Council for the United Way of Palm Beach County, and of the Nonprofit Chamber of Palm Beach County. More recently, under her guidance, The Lord’s Place received a $1 million matching grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to address services for ex-offenders. She works side-by-side with Palm Beach County and other municipalities to address the needs of the homeless in our community.  She is known for her collaborative spirit and her passion for bringing stakeholders together to find solutions.

Ms. Stanley is a tireless advocate for the homeless and the need for systemic reform.  She regularly meets with state representatives and members from Congress to educate them about the issues surrounding homelessness. Last year, Ms. Stanley was recognized by Congressman Alcee Hastings for her advocacy and delivery of services to the homeless in Palm Beach County.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Ms. Stanley has been married 26 years, has four children and four grandchildren.  Her favorite leadership quote is “Always do the important over the urgent.”  Her favorite saying for life is: “Let us always meet each other with a smile, for a smile is the beginning of love.”
