Our Mission

The Mission of the Chamber of Nonprofit Health and Human Services Agencies in Palm Beach County is to provide a forum to learn from trusted colleagues and an opportunity to provide advocacy for those we serve.

Why the Nonprofit Chamber?

Professional Organization

The Chamber of Nonprofit Health & Human Services Agencies in Palm Beach County provides the only professional organization just for health and human services nonprofits in Palm Beach County. It provides a setting for nonprofits to gather, discuss and resolve common issues, develop collaborative relationships, and promote the economic and social value of nonprofits in Palm Beach County. We serve to develop and articulate a unified voice for the nonprofit health and human services network.

Benefits

The Chamber membership have found funding collaborators through this organization; many have discovered the benefits of sharing resources, and others have learned strategies for grant-writing, succession planning, human resource development and many other valuable tools for enhancing their own missions.

Meetings

Meetings include discussions of issues introduced by the membership, presentations by local experts on topics of interest to nonprofit leadership, and an all-important period of time is set aside for nonprofits to share information through networking.

The Chamber’s board is grateful to Allegany Franciscan Ministries for their financial support of the Chamber and their belief in our mission and goals.

Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit Catholic organization focused on improving the overall health status of individuals through increasing access to health services and information. Allegany Franciscan Ministries provides grants to organizations in three regions of Florida: Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties, and the Tampa Bay area of Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Guided by the tradition and vision of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, NY, and a member of Catholic Health East, Allegany Franciscan Ministries strives to be a catalyst for systemic change, committing resources and working collaboratively to promote physical, mental, spiritual, societal and cultural health and well-being in these communities. What is the Nonprofit Chamber of Palm Beach County?

Chief Executive Officers of a broad cross section of Palm Beach County’s most respected health and human services organizations have come together to collaborate, learn, network, collectively advocate, and stay ahead of the curve in rapidly changing times. We focus on improving the “business” of nonprofit work and changing the way the community views non-profit organizations.

The Chamber was the brainchild of nonprofit leaders more than a decade ago when they recognized they and their peers had no forum to meet, learn about and from each other and form collaborations and alliances.

What We Do

The Nonprofit Chamber facilitates legislative advocacy, educational and information sessions focused on relevant issues such as:

  • impact of ethics provisions on nonprofits
  • opportunities to discuss creative ideas for generating revenue
  • cutting costs
  • marketing
  • human resource issues
  • identifying grant and collaborations among members
  • discussions of mergers
  • appearing before legislative bodies to provide input
  • serving as a unified voice to the media on health and human services issues

Advocate at the grassroots level regarding gaps and needs in health and human services in Palm Beach County.

Work in collaboration without duplicating other existing resources.

Measuring Success

Branding of a collective message to the public and private sectors (individuals & businesses) that the health and human services “safety net” is important and a critical element of our community.

Membership is representative of large and small agencies providing health and human services in Palm Beach County.

The organization achieves credibility as a collective voice for nonprofit organizations providing health and human services in Palm Beach County.

Members value information delivered and ideas exchanged in their efforts to obtain efficiencies.

Annual Satisfaction Surveys measure member satisfaction.
